Mr. Chips

I rode shotgun in the car, you always drove
I wasn't very good with a 5-speed
and it wasn't my car
Every time we crossed the railroad tracks,  you would lift up your feet
Every time we ran a yellow light, you would kiss your palm and slap the ceiling
In the winter you would roll all the windows down and blast the heater
You called it "hot-tubbing"
(I still do all these things now, the kids think this is a normal way to drive)
I remember when your Mom grounded you from your car
And I saw the way you worked your mom to get it back
Like you were a litigator
We had to do important things like get our tongues pierced
And be able to drive to Taco Bell
(The same Taco Bell that Mr. Chips the Chihuahua who was alone in it's owners car
when the breaks went out and the car travelled across
five lanes of traffic from the McDonalds drive through to the Taco Bell
parking lot and hit a Jeep)
